||Solo practitioner bankruptcy attorney looking for a legal assistant as a non-paid intern with the possibility of a paid internship.
Applicant must be self-motivated, hard working, and computer literate (must e familiar with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). Legal background is recommended. Must be bilingual - Spanish.
Applicant will manage a high volume of case work in bankruptcy. You will be responsible for preparing and overseeing bankruptcies, submission of documents to Trustee, and interacting with clients. Updating clients as to the status of their case via telephone, gathering information and obtaining records. Monitor progress of cases and keep attorney updated on case status. Prepare bankruptcy petitions.
Candidate must be professional, self-motivated, enjoy working in a fast paced environment, be able to follow instructions, be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
You must have some form of legal experience. Although bankruptcy is not a must, it is desirable.
